Dive the Deep Wrecks of Key Largo!
It's A Dive runs trips to the USS Spiegel Grove and trips to the USCG cutters Bibb and Duane. Please call for a list of Scheduled trips. The USS Spiegel Grove is a 510 ft. landing ship dock lying upright in 140ft of water. Much of the wreck lies between 70ft and 100ft. We do both dives on the Spiegel Grove with a one hour surface interval weather and currents permitting. The US Coast Guard Cutters Bibb and Duane are 327 ft. Treasury Class cutters. The Bibb lies on its side in 130 ft. of water with the centerline at about 110 ft. The Duane is upright in 130 ft. of water with deck at about 100 ft. All of the ships lie in the Gulf Stream and can be subject to strong currents. They each have penetration and overhead environment hazards. It’s A Dive’s policy strongly recommends against penetration dives without proper equipment and training. A timing device is required for each diver. A dive computer, light, gloves, and knife is strongly recommended.
